Company Profile

Of humble beginnings, the company's history is rooted in the De Leon family's gun retailing business that has become somewhat of a family tradition passed on from one generation to the next.

Romulo T. De Leon III, an ambitious young businessman, started his own gun business while still under the company name of his parents, E. De Leon Gun Store. In 1963, his first ever independent store opened in Malaybalay, Bukidnon,Philippines. It was to be the first of many.

In 1980, the new company was renamed Shooters Guns & Ammo Corporation (SGAC). Due to an increase in market demand, the company shifted from local trading of firearms to importation of foreign brands, which catapulted the company to retail success.

Today, S.G.A.C. ( brevity for Shooters Guns & Ammo Corp.) is one of the Philippines' largest gun retail companies, with thirty eight (38) retail outlets in major cities nationwide. Apart from its foreign brands of imported firearms, its product range has extended to include ammunition, gun accessories, spare parts, security equipment as well as leather goods for sporting and defense. The company caters to all sectors - from government and military entities to private agencies and civilians.

The year 1992 was another landmark year for the company as it boldly ventured into the highly specialized field of local firearm manufacturing. Shooters Arms Manufacturing Incorporated (S.A.M. Inc.) was established with the mission to manufacture affordable firearms with uncompromised quality at par with world-class standards; and the vision to establish itself as an internationally recognizable Filipino brand of firearm. In 1998, SAM began exportation to a US firearm company and has since expanded its international clientele that now includes Australia, Thailand, Costa Rica, and most recently, Italy, and Switzerland.

At present, the Shooters Company is composed of two independent yet mutually beneficial divisions: Shooters Arms Manufacturing Inc. (S.A.M. Inc.) is the manufacturing and exporting branch, while Shooters Guns & Ammo Corp. (S.G.A.C.) is the marketing and importing branch.

Towards the latter part of 2008, SAM moved its manufacturing function to a new location in Brgy Tipolo, Mandaue City. The new factory has more floor space than the previous location and acquired computer numerically controlled (CNC) and lathe machines. These advanced technology machines ensure accuracy and speed in machining when compared to conventional ones.

Visionary leadership, intelligent management, and product innovation - these make up the winning formula of the company's success in over four decades of operation in the gun industry. Over the years, the company has remained fervent in its commitment to import and manufacture affordable firearms of the highest quality in caliber and craftsmanship; a commitment, which has become synonymous to the company brand.

Built as an International Business Entity to last for years, Shooters shall become a highly competitive player in its chosen segment of the firearms market sustained by a highly professionalized management whose quality system is traceable to an International standard recognized world-wide.

1. To enhance the core competence of its skilled employees on high speed machining and hand-made assembly of firearms.
2. Professionalization of its business management through the establishment, documentation and implementation of the highest possible standards in manufacturing of firearms and the like.
3. Expansion of production capacity within its current premises to cater for future growth of the export and domestic business.
